Holiday Home Tour To Help Build Shelter For Abused Kids

DAVIS ISLANDS - The third annual Holiday Stroll: Home Is Where the Heart Is will include food, drinks and holiday music at three Blanca Avenue homes that have been decorated for the holidays.

The event, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, will benefit Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, a nonprofit founded by Dottie Berger McKinnon. The charity is raising money to build an emergency shelter for abused children.

The hosts are McKinnon and her husband, Sandy, and Tara and David Ruberg, and Sandy and Jim Murman.

Beach Park Club Plans Silver Coffee

BEACH PARK - Frank and Anna Snipes will open their Beach Park home for the annual Silver Coffee sponsored by the Beach Park Women's Club.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at 4815 W. Woodmere Road. Anna Snipes and club President Lita Swindle will greet guests.

Janice Lindgren is event chairwoman and Elizabeth Kurz is vice chairwoman. There will be a fashion show featuring items from Kit's Well-Heeled and Well-Dressed in Hyde Park. Pat Cowan, director of Southeastern Guide Dogs, will speak about the guide dog service.

Candle Lighting Honors Memories
WEST TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Chapter of Bereaved Parents of the USA will have its annual Remembrance Service and Candle Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of St. Joseph's Hospital's Medical Arts Building, 3001 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The event, a remembrance of children who have died, is open to parents, grandparents, siblings, other relatives and friends.

Garden Club Sets Luncheon
SEMINOLE HEIGHTS - The North Tampa Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Seminole Garden Center, 5800 N. Central Ave.

Suncoast Chapter Elects President

SOUTH TAMPA - Debbie Gavalas, development director for the Child Abuse Council, has been elected president of the Suncoast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
