WEST SHORE - Progressive Insurance employees planted 70 trees at Cypress Point Park recently as part of the insurer's 70th anniversary celebrations.
Among the trees planted Nov. 14 at the South Tampa park are live oaks, Southern magnolia and longleaf pine, the company said. Progressive said it is teaming with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 70 trees in six cities where it has call centers.
"Our '70 Years, 70 Trees' events are about putting down even deeper roots in the communities where a lot of Progressive people live, including here in Tampa," Kydi Morris, Tampa call center director, said in a statement. "Planting trees is a way for us to give back to the customers and communities that helped us achieve this significant milestone in our history."
