TAMPA - Students in the MacDonald Training Center's fine arts program will display their talents in four holiday shows at four venues.
From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, their work will be exhibited at a sale, silent auction and reception at The Great Frame Up, 3810 W. Neptune St.
Called "Uncommon Art," the silent auction features only paintings. In addition to the auction, limited-edition prints, hand-built clay sculptures and holiday items such as Santas, Christmas trees and ornaments will be offered for sale, with prices from $5 to $200.
Many of the artists will have works in the WMNF, 88.5 FM, annual Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Cuban Club, 2010 Avenida Republica de Cuba. The event features food, art, crafts, music, and antiques and collectibles.
From 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 13, some of the artists will participate in "Thursday Night Live," an ongoing art showcase at the Barn Theatre at Winthrop Town Center, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave.
Finally, the artists will take part in a sale and silent auction at Syd Entel Gallery, 247 Main St., in Safety Harbor from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 15.
MacDonald Training Center, 5420 W. Cypress St., serves developmentally disabled adults.

Hyde Park Center Goes 3-D In Show
The Old Hyde Park Art Center usually hosts shows of two-dimensional paintings and drawings.
This time, the center is the venue for "SCULP-o-MANIA," a sculptural exhibition by Tampa artist Candace Knapp and some of her students.
The exhibit runs from Monday through Dec. 21 at the center, 705 Swann Ave. The free opening reception is from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 7.
It has been two years since their work was displayed at the center. The sculptures will include Christmas ornaments and other holiday decorations.

Wine Exchange To Host Art Show, Sale
The Wine Exchange restaurant, 1611 W. Swann Ave., in Hyde Park Village, will host its sixth annual art show and sale from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday.
About 15 artists will participate. Their work includes paintings and handcrafted suitcases and bags. A disc jockey will provide music.

Artists Sought For Gasparilla
Artist applications are being accepted through Dec. 15 for the Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, to be held March 1-2 in downtown.
