TAMPA - Three Jesuit High School sophomores celebrated their 16th birthdays by hosting a party that raised $1,100 for the Guardian ad Litem's Voices for Children Toy Drive.
Anthony Rodriguez, Alex Impink and Evan Rubinson invited 180 students from Jesuit, Academy of the Holy Names and Tampa Catholic and high school students from Clearwater. The event was held Nov. 2 at Kapok Pavilion in Clearwater.
The boys will use the money to buy toys for children represented by Guardian ad Litem, which assists abused, neglected or abandoned children in the court system.
Voices for Children is the organization's nonprofit group and holds fundraisers and provides volunteers.
The organization is collecting toys until Dec. 7. To donate, call assistant director Suzanne Parker at (813) 272-5110.
