Company Offers Event Furniture

TAMPA - Anyone booking corporate, fundraiser or private events can now rent furniture for their festivities.

Grand Events of Florida, 2715 E. Adamo Drive, has added a line of lounge furniture to its array of event props and services, Vice President Paula Cardoso said.

'We found that people like lounge areas,' Cardoso said. 'If they don't have a theme, but still have a nice event, it is a nice place for people to sit so everyone is not stuck standing around a round table.'

For instance, for a fundraiser with a Mardi Gras theme, the company could set up the dance floor area to mimic a club with couches and tables.

The company has been providing furniture for years but recently expanded its inventory. Its 20,000-square-foot warehouse holds furniture, props, decor and draperies.

'We have a lot of assortment now,' Cardoso said.

Smith And Associates Opens New Building

The title and developer services portions of Smith and Associates Realtors have moved to a new building at 3708 W. Swann Ave.

The 13,000-square-foot, two-story building opened this month. It includes two offices and four suites to lease, said Bob Glaser, the company's chief executive.

'We're expanding our operations,' Glaser said. 'We wanted to do another signature building like we have on Bay to Bay (Boulevard) and Dale Mabry (Highway).'

Street Side Developers leases about 3,000 square feet of office space at the new building, which has high ceilings, double mahogany doors and lots of windows, Glaser said.

'It can best be described as residential architecture in a commercial space,' he said.

The building is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and by appointment on weekends.

Weichert Realtors Moves To Columbus
Weichert Realtors - Aventa has opened a new headquarters at 3434 W. Columbus Drive.

President Omar Garcia said the move from Dale Mabry Highway and Waters Avenue puts the company closer to the area it mainly serves. Weichert focuses on the Hispanic market.

'You look at Tampa and Hillsborough County as a whole, the Hispanic population continues to climb,' Garcia said. 'It is a good location for us. It is a central location for our customers.'

The new office includes Garcia's Weichert Realtors - Aventa, Aventa Mortgage and Aventa Construction. It's open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and by appointment on weekends.
