TAMPA - The GFWC Tampa Juniorettes returned from its annual state convention with awards in public affairs, education, conservation, programs and fundraising. In addition, the group's advisor, Carol McCommons, was selected Adviser of the Year and Jackie King, a 2008 Plant High School graduate, received a Carolyn Pearce Outstanding Juniorette Scholarship Award.
The convention was June 13-15 in Orlando.
The Juniorettes, started by the GFWC Tampa Woman's Club, participates in service activities throughout the year, including fundraising for the Tampa Police Department's K-9 Unit, which the group adopted as its state project, Puppy Love.
