SOUTH TAMPA - Academy of the Holy Names recently hosted its annual community service day.
Holy Names middle-schoolers visited 13 locations in and around Tampa, including an adult day care center. They worked with horses and guide dogs for the disabled, helped children with disabilities and performed yard work for seniors. They also worked in food collection and distribution at a store for the economically disadvantaged.
Pre-K and elementary pupils stayed at school and created projects for veterans hospital patients, migrants, and those under Hospice care. They made blankets, cards and flowerpots filled with plants.
