SEMINOLE HEIGHTS - Books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records and most anything media-related are needed for the 14th annual book sale to benefit Seminole Heights Public Library Branch.
Donations should be dropped off at the library, 4711 N. Central Ave.
The sale, named in honor of its founder, Steve Gluckman, will be held March 6 and 7 at the Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, 6111 N. Central Ave. Gluckman was a historian and longtime Seminole Heights resident who died from a heart attack Dec.11, 2007, at age 70.
Residents have lobbied the Hillsborough County library system to name a proposed replacement library for Gluckman. No decision has been made but construction is anticipated in late 2011 or 2012.
Evan St. Ives is spearheading the sale which has outgrown space at the library.
Church officials offered storage for sale items and a large basement room for the sale. "This will give us plenty of space," St. Ives said.
The sale was moved from its usual time in February to March to avoid conflicts with the city's Gasparilla events, St. Ives said. Exact operating hours have not been set, but St. Ives said the sale likely will begin the evening of March 6 and continue March 7 until midday.
The library also is expanding the Gluckman Bungalow/Historic Homes reference collection. Book suggestions or donations also can be made at the library.
For information, call St. Ives at (813) 238-2100 or Seminole Heights Public Branch Library at (813) 273-3652.
