SOUTH TAMPA - For her bat mitzvah project, Lauren Rubin, 12, held a yard sale to benefit Trinity Cafe, which feeds the homeless and poor.
Family, friends and neighbors donated items and helped with transportation for the Feb. 2 sale, which raised more than $430, said Lauren's parents, Randy and Marlene Rubin.
Lauren's sister, Emily, 9, helped raise money by selling lemonade and brownies.
Lauren plans to continue seeking donations to provide goody bags for all of the cafe's clients, her parents said.
