Eagle Scout Honored

SOUTH TAMPA - Boy Scout Troop 22, family and friends bestowed the rank of Eagle Scout on James "Jay" Garcia Alver at a Court of Honor ceremony May 18 at Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
Alver, a Plant High School student, and fellow troop members contributed more than 100 volunteer hours for his project to restore Patterson Street Park in Sulphur Springs.
The Scouts cleared overgrowth to help restore a natural spring and its flow into the Hillsborough River.
