DOWNTOWN - Leadership Tampa Alumni recently had its 2008 Leadership Tampa Graduating Class Reception.
At the event at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Karen Arnold and Holly Tomlin introduced the graduating class. Patricia Spears was the host.

Ybor City Chamber Installs Officers
YBOR CITY - The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce installed its officers at its recent luncheon.
Joe Capitano Jr., the board's 73rd chairman, is a third-generation Ybor City businessman and an executive with The Radiant Group.
New directors are: Bucky Sebastian, GTE Federal Credit Union; Bryan Clancey, Hampton Inn & Suites, Matt Cadreche, Design Interiors; Gino Iavarone, Carmine's Restaurant; and Manny Leto, Cigar City Magazine.
Returning to the board are: Andrea White, Bright House Networks; Doug Schaedler, UTEK Corp.; and Wes Miller, Park Drive Partnership.
Tom Keating is the chamber's president and chief executive officer.
Several Krewes Plan Fundraisers
TAMPA - Various krewes are busy raising money for local causes, including:
•Krewe of the Brass Monkey will have a poolside happy hour membership drive at 6 p.m. today at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 5223 N. Orient Road.
Proceeds benefit Hillsborough Achievement and Resource Centers, which assist adults with disabilities. For information, call (813) 368-3558.
•Krewe of Zingaro's Uncork the Cure wine tasting, including live and silent auctions, is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at The Tampa Club, 101 E. Kennedy Blvd.
The auction includes 30 minutes with Mayor Pam Iorio for a parent and student, a tour of Raymond James Stadium, an Alaskan flight adventure, four nights in a luxury condo in Colorado, a baseball autographed by Alex Rodriguez and original artwork.
Tickets are $50 advance and $60 at the door for the tropical-casual fundraiser benefiting the St. Joseph's Hospital's Children Cancer Research Group. For information, go to www.uncorkthecure.com.
•The krewes of Brigadoon, Cigar City, St. Florian, Mustang Sallies and Riders, and Charlotte de Berry will host a Tacky Tourist Party from 6 to 10 p.m. June 28 at Channelside Bay Plaza.
Admission is $20 and includes drinks, an appetizer and games. Dress code is "the tackier the better." Proceeds benefit Camp Hopetake, which works with young burn patients.
Party Like A Rock Star At DeBartolo Event
TAMPA - The DeBartolo Family Foundation will host Party Like a Rock Star, featuring local celebrities and luxury auction items, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Floyd's at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 5223 N. Orient Road
Celebrities expected to attend include Wade Boggs, Brad Culpepper, Michael Clayton and Chidi Ahanotu. Auction items include vacations in Las Vegas and Costa Rica, Super Bowl party tickets and a handbag by Jimmy Choo.

Begonia Society Meets June 28
NORTH TAMPA - Betsy Lieberman from Tomboy Tools will speak at the June 28 meeting of the Begonia Society of Tampa Bay.
The 10:30 a.m. event, which is free to members and guests, will be at Famous Tate Distribution Center, 6401 N. 54th St. First-time attendees will receive a begonia. For information, call (813) 838-0374.
Amscot Financial Matching Donations
TAMPA - Donations to the Salvation Army Tampa Area Command through July 31 will be matched by Tampa-based Amscot Financial, up to a total of $10,000.
Requests for Salvation Army services have increased because of the higher cost of living, but donations are down because of the economic slowdown, Maj. Ronnie L. Raymer, Tampa Area Commander, said in a statement.
