Knights Host Luncheon Benefit

SOUTH TAMPA - The Knights of St. Peter Claver of the St. Peter Claver Catholic Church hosted a luncheon May 22 at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club to benefit the Herbert D. Carrington Sr. Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship is available to high school seniors in the Tampa Bay area who have at least a 3.0 grade-point average, submit an essay outlining their goals and show a need for financial assistance.
Carrington, a longtime Tampa resident who died in 2006 at the age of 107, was a member of the church and was the yacht club's maitre d' for more than 50 years.
To contribute to the scholarship fund, send a check payable to Knights of St. Peter Claver to P.O. Box 76903, Tampa FL 33675.
