PALMA CEIA - Prepare for traffic delays as the city's wastewater department begins work Tuesday on a broken sewer line underneath Bay to Bay Boulevard.
Director Ralph Metcalf said crews will be working 6-feet below the surface between Esperanza and Ferdinand avenues. One lane in each direction of four-lane Bay to Bay will remain open to traffic.
"If we're lucky, we'll be out in a few days," said Metcalf, estimating completion by Friday.
The broken clay pipe, which Metcalf said was installed in the 1960s, was discovered by crews doing inspections.
