SOUTH TAMPA - St. Mary's Episcopal Day School eighth-graders visited with U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, before touring the U.S. Capitol during their recent class trip to Washington.
The students and chaperons also visited the National Cathedral, the White House, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, The Kennedy Center and Arlington National Cemetery, where they participated in a wreath-laying ceremony.
In Baltimore, they visited Fort McHenry, Camden Yards and the historical grave site of Edgar Allan Poe.
The annual trip is the culmination of a three-semester course on U.S. history.
