BEACH PARK - A public hearing on whether the city should vacate the waterfront strip at the end of West Neptune Way has been postponed until 6 p.m. Oct. 23.
Two homeowners at the end of the cul-de-sac made the request more than a year ago, saying they want the right of way to enhance their security. They asked to postpone the hearing scheduled for last week to allow more time to meet with residents opposed to the request.
Some neighbors who walk or ride bicycles to the end of the street to enjoy the view of Old Tampa Bay and the Howard Frankland Bridge say the land should be considered a public park.
