SULPHUR SPRINGS - Valpak employees spent May 14 planting more than 500 plants and trees at Sulphur Springs Elementary School during its Valpak Cares Community Event.
Nearly 100 volunteers planted the garden. Two picnic tables and a birdbath were added among the meandering paths, along with trellises, trees and bushes to create a secret garden. Inside the school, volunteers worked on a jungle mural on the cafeteria wall, inspired by the school's tiger mascot. Other volunteers shelved books in the media center.
Largo-based Valpak also donated nine cases of books for students to take home for the summer.
