TAMPA - The Home Association Annual Silver Tea, which began in the 1920s, is being revised and will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the association's historic landmark building, 1203 E. 22nd Ave.
Bonnie Judy and Jane Hall Witt are the honorary chairwomen; Susan Leisner is president of the association's board of directors.
The tea will be held on the veranda and in the social parlor of the retirement center. There will be English tea and scones from South Tampa's Royal Tea Room served from fine silver services. Board members and volunteers will wear vintage dresses from the 1920s and 1930s provided by La France in Ybor City.

Cigars & Stars IV Kicks Off Festival
YBOR CITY - The fourth annual Cigars & Stars event will kick off the Cigar Heritage Festival weekend.
The event, featuring cigars, Cuban-Caribbean food, a silent auction, live music and casino-style games, will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Ybor City Museum Garden, 1818 E. Ninth Ave.
The honoree is historian Emanuel "Manny" Leto.
Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door and available through www.cigarcity magazine.com or by calling (813) 247-3880.
Proceeds benefit the Ybor City Museum Society and the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.
Krewes Sets Socials, Movie Screening
TAMPA - Various krewes have socials and other events scheduled in the upcoming days, including:
•The Pre-Veterans Day Social, sponsored by the Krewe of Hillsborough, will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Bennigan's at Channelside Bay Plaza. For information, e-mail kohtampa@yahoo.com.

•Ye Loyal Krewe of Samuel Bellamy will sponsor a screening of the new James Bond movie, "Quantum of Solace," at 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at Channelside Cinemas in Channelside Bay Plaza.
A pre-movie social begins at 5:30 p.m. at Splitsville, followed by a fashion show at 6 p.m.

Institute's Director Speaker At Guild
SOUTH TAMPA - John Surpremant, director of the Cancer Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital, will speak at Friday's meeting of the American Cancer Society's Sword of Hope Guild.
The 10:30 a.m. meeting will be at the home of Michelle and Harold Koster. Luncheon hosts are Dell Russell, Barbara Court, Katie Harper and Katie Keene. The luncheon is $15.

Musicale Program Highlights Opera
SOUTH TAMPA - The Friday Morning Musicale and the University of South Florida Student Opera Program will present a free program at 11 a.m. Friday at the Musicale Building, 809 Horatio St.
Jack Rain will be the featured pianist, and Won Cho, director of USF Opera, will be the narrator. Lunch will be served after the program; the cost is $5, and reservations are needed by calling (813) 258-4752.
Skipper's Party Honors Sargeant
NORTH TAMPA - Frank Sargeant, who retired recently after 24 years as The Tampa Tribune's outdoors columnist, will be honored at a party at 5 p.m. Sunday at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road.
Fishing captain Mel Berman will be the master of ceremonies, and guests will include fishing captains Bill Miller and Glen Pla. Entertainment will be provided by De Lei'ed Parrots.
The $10 admission benefits the Coastal Conservation Association.
Casino Night Benefits YMCA
YBOR CITY - The Interbay-Glover Family YMCA will have its ninth annual Let's Have A Ball casino night from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Lion's Eye Institute, 1410 N. 21st St.
There will be casino-style games, a silent auction, music, food and an open bar provided by The Rack. Proceeds support the YMCA's Building Strong Kids Campaign.

A Night In Paris Benefits USF Program
INTERBAY - A French-themed celebration, A Night In Paris, will benefit the University of South Florida's Division of Geriatric Medicine.
The dinner party and silent auction will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club, 5310 Interbay Blvd. Guests will have cocktails in a Left Bank-bistro setting and dinner in a Versailles room. Author Dudley Clendinen is the speaker.
Vince Perron is chairman of the committee, which includes Paula Wilson and Lourdes Rodriquez.
