TAMPA - Police are searching for two armed men who robbed a Publix supermarket late Thursday night.
The suspects entered the store at 6001 N. Nebraska Ave. through a rear loading door at 10:20 p.m., Lt. William Ferguson said. The men ordered employees to get on the ground and forced the store's assistant manager and cashier to hand over money from the safe, Ferguson said. The suspects then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, police said.
No one was injured.
Both suspects are between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, police said. One weighs about 170 pounds and was wearing a black T-shirt and dark blue jeans. The other has a heavy build, weighs between 230 and 250 pounds and was wearing a black T-shirt and acid-washed jeans, police said.
