DOWNTOWN - The Tampa Downtown Rotary recently presented a check for $3,500 to the Wheels of Success program for Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. The donation, which will be matched by the Eckerd Foundation, will help provide vehicle replacement, car repairs, related licensing services, car payments and car care classes for qualified working poor who are without reliable transportation.
Susan Jacobs, who founded Wheels of Success in 2003 after experiencing personally what it's like to be alone without wheels, said the working poor achieve a much higher level of job productivity and have a better quality of life thanks to the cars the program provides.
