GANDY/SUN BAY SOUTH - The Sticks 'N' Stuff building on Gandy Boulevard was mostly rubble last week as the demolition and clearing of the site for the Walmart supercenter continued.
"We've only just begun demolition of existing buildings in June," said spokeswoman Michelle Belaire. She said at most it would take four months to complete.
"We will schedule building construction bids to go out in October, and we project an opening date in the fall of 2010," Belaire said.
The 140,000-square-foot store will include standard Wal-Mart merchandise, a full grocery store and a 6,000-square-foot garden center.
