HISTORIC HYDE PARK - More than 1,100 people attended the seventh annual Historic Hyde Park Home Tour on March 7. New this year were Model A Fords, courtesy of the New Florida Region Model A Restorers Club of Tampa. Parked outside each home, they represented the era in which the tour homes were built.
About 200 people attended the inaugural patrons' party the Friday night before the tour. Students from the International Academy of Design and Technology were available during the tour to describe architectural design elements, and participants ate their way through a progressive luncheon featuring local restaurants such as Square One Burgers and Chefs on the Loose.
The Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood Association hosted the tour which benefitted the Capt. Russell P. Harris/Rudy J. Santacruz Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4321, as well as the Warrick Dunn Foundation and Bern's Park.
