DAVIS ISLANDS - Corey Neil and his wife, April, a speech language pathologist at Tampa General Hospital, recently brought dozens of gifts and gift cards to the Childlife Therapy program at the hospital. The Neils donated the gifts on behalf of The L.V. Thompson Family Foundation, for which Corey Neil serves as a member of the board of directors.
From iPods to board games, the gifts will be distributed to pediatric patients throughout the year and especially will be useful when patients are hospitalized on their birthdays. The foundation also presented the Tampa General Hospital Foundation a check for $10,000 to buy sleeper chairs for parents who stay overnight with their children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
The L.V. Thompson Family Foundation, based in Tampa, supports initiatives in health care, education and spiritual growth.
