Cobb Theatres has released a rendering of its future cinema in the Hyde Park neighborhood and announced it will open in early October.
The 28,000-square-foot CineBistro theater is intended to provide a "luxury movie-going experience with upscale drink, dinner and dessert options," according to a news release. The building is at South Rome and West Swann avenues in the Hyde Park Village shopping complex.
Tampa City Council approved wet zoning for the property - formerly the site of Sunrise Cinemas - in February. Plans call for six theaters, reserved seating and dining tables, with cocktails and appetizers served in the theater lobby's bar.
The theater will be for patrons 21 and older.
"We are extremely excited to be opening in Hyde Park Village," Jeremy P. Welman, Cobb's chief operating officer, said in the news release. "This area is a boutique center and is a perfect fit for us."
Alabama-based Cobb Theatres anticipates the venue will generate about 75 local jobs.
