Wetherell will hold a news conference Tuesday to address sanctions handed down by the NCAA Committee on Infractions for academic-misconduct violations involving 61 student-athletes and three former FSU employees. When a man walking through Tampa Housing Authority property saw uniformed officers nearby Monday night, he ran off and tried hiding by illegally entering the home of a person he didn't know, police say. Preston Parker's legal problems are continuing less than a month after his was kicked off Florida State University's football team. Parker was charged with DUI by Tallahassee police in January. That arrest violated his probation in a Palm Beach County case, and a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Parker turned himself in Sunday night, and he was being held in the Palm Beach County jail, according to the sheriff's office Web site. ...more
